What is Geothermal Heating and Cooling?
- The temperature above ground changes dramatically throughout the year, however, only five feet below the earth's surface remains a constant temperature between 50-60*F. A Geothermal system uses a ground-source heat pump to either transfer heat to your home via the earth or release the heat from your home into the ground. IMPORTANT NEWS!
The stimulus bill, signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17th, included a new provision for people who choose a Geothermal heat-pump application in their home or building! Now, the tax credits for installing Geothermal heating and cooling in a residence are 30% of the cost! Also all commercial and private buildings are eligible for grant worth 10% of the cost!
