• Earth Energy Connections, Inc. specializes in closed-loop/ground source heat pump systems. This system is comprised of many vertical boreholes ranging from 200 to 400 feet deep. A closed loop made of highly durable and reliable polyethylene pipe is inserted into each borehole. These closed loops are then connected horizontally five feet below the surface and brought to your home or building. A mixture of water and glycol (a catalyst for heat transfer) is then circulated through the pipes using a heat pump. The water/glycol mixture is highly efficient at transferring heat with the ability to transfer the ground heat to your building or absorb the heat from your building and release it into the ground; allowing a geothermal system to be dually efficient for heating and cooling.
